I did not know before that the photo above is Tawa Tawa. We have lots of those in our province. Many dengue patients attested that this plant/weed can cure dengue but DOH did not recommend Tawa Tawa but instead they advise the patients to rehydrate themselves at once and go to the hospital for proper treatment.
Right now, DOH is still studying whether Tawa Tawa can be used for patients who are being feared of carrying virus from mosquito bites. They warned that Tawa Tawa is not scientifically proven as herbal that can treat dengue, thus, should not be used as alternative medicine. In my own opinion, Tawa Tawa is safe but it is always best to consult a doctor when diagnosed or suspected with dengue fever.
I always put a mosquito patch in my daughters' uniform or socks as an additional preventive measure when going to school. Somehow, it helps and protects them from mosquito bites.
