University Of Santo Tomas Quadricentennial Year

Last week, University of Sto. Tomas celebrated its quadricentennial or 400th anniversary. The university is the oldest university in the Philippines and Asia. UST is also the only university to have been visited by two popes three times: once by Pope Paul VI on Nov. 28, 1970, and twice by Pope John Paul II on Feb. 18, 1981 and January 13, 1995. This quadricentennial year, Pope Benedict XVI greeted the university by a video message and sent a representative instead.

Girls Talk: Work Resolutions

I don't make resolutions because I know that I really cannot fulfill all the resolutions I will outline like what happened since I started making one. But I'll try my best this year. We are all working mothers, only some are not really getting paid off for their hard work. From laundry to online task, being moms are really tough doing a multitasking job. I am not just sleeping the whole morning while waiting for my children to come home from school. I sit down for many hours not only to sip a cup of coffee but in front of electronic keyboard to earn money too.

As a sahm 1)wake up thirty minutes earlier and let not my alarm clock snooze twice and end up sleeping again and late, resulting to rush my children in going to school 2) plan a weekly menu and weekend activity for family 3) attend to my children's need and balance my time online and offline world

As a wahm 1)post my tasks on a timely basis 2) visit and join weekly meme to know more about my fellow bloggers 3) update my four blogs regularly and post a more worthy entries to read

Elegant Table Settings

I was blog hopping last night when I stumbled in one site featuring Christmas sparkling table settings. She linked the post into our weekly meme with all ruby color and I got interested in purchasing the same elegant dinnerware that she used. I thought of buying a new set too. Aside from the food that I usually prepare, I have this elegant dinnerware to surprise my family and friends. If I could find a cheaper value, I'll look for the bright colors but my preference in general is still a traditional round shape. I am browsing now about the sale items online to get more tips and info on buying beautiful dinnerware. I am still planning right now but I'm already excited to purchase a new set. It is not about impressing my guest for new dinnerware but more of fulfillment for myself when I'm in the mood to do an extraordinary table settings even on ordinary days.

Canal Holiday

I probably would be the happiest if my job includes traveling around the world. I envy those people who can travel or spend a vacation in any parts of the world whenever they want to. I can only fulfill that dream by virtual trip or by visiting other site who blogs about their trip. I just visited a blogger friend's site who went to Marco Venice for a canal holiday. He shared few of the pictures and the views were breathtaking. I can just imagine how enchanting it was taking a boat in a peaceful water crossing the stunning scenery. Gondolas on the Grand Canal are just really romantic for me. Everyone dreams about Venice. Because I read a lot about Venice, I am now speaking like I've visited the place before. I cannot lie to myself anymore that I'm just dreaming endlessly here. The only reality I can take right now is taste the Italian pizza, baguettes and cappuccino.

Do you have any special plans for this summer? Where do you plan to stay? I always wanted to have a vacation in any top destinations in the country. The new year has begun. Many people think that the economy is doing good these days. People even with bad credit find a way to avail loans just to open up a business. so today is my blog anniversary

I didn't know this until Teena of Toronto left a comment today. Thanks to you Teena for reminding me of my blog anniversary. I headed to my first post and checked the date and some of my January posts too. I just picked this entry dated January 15, 2009 reposting today..

Manila on its coldest 16 degrees, baguio 6 degrees. In tropical country, this season is the coldest, Jan - Feb.. In Benguet, the weather drop down to 3 degrees, and the vegetable farm is now frost but will not affect the supply yet. I have my long due wish to visit Sagada, I do hope to embrace the 4am temperature there sometime.

The country will have to brace for more cold weather until next month,as per PAGASA. Wow, thanks.. were enjoying the cold weather. Our Meralco bill drop to only half compare to our last month bill. We're not using aircon or electric fan anymore..

Today..

Manila is experiencing 21 degrees while Baguio is 9 compare to 2009 with 13 degrees and 3 degrees at its coldest. The weather is warmer today but the frostbite in Benguet already affected the harvest of fruits, vegetables and flowers by which we expect less supply by February. Also, I haven't visited Sagada yet and it has been two years already since my last post about my long due wish to visit the place they call heaven on earth.

Girls Talk: Health Resolution

the reason why I didn't post any resolutions for this 2011 is that, I don't want to pressure myself and be a failure at the end of the year for not accomplishing even one. so for GT this week, let me reveal one of those resolutions which is quite impossible because this is what I love doing all my life but I really want to break this bad habbit. so help me please!

.. to sleep early and wake up early and have a regular sleep pattern! I just love sleeping in the morning, it makes me sick but I just love doing it!
