Legend Villas

Last Saturday, our first Mommy Bloggers Christmas Party was held at Legend Villas. It was actually my first time to stay at the hotel where we occupied the Premier Suite. The setting was very homey complete with telephone, wifi, cable television, entertainment, toilet and bath, fully air conditioned room and jacuzzi.

Legend Villas is a 100% Filipino owned business, so expect a very warm welcome from all the staff.
Definitely, I will recommend this hotel to my fellow mommies who want to take a break or simply a vacation or family gathering. For those who want to experience pleasure of dining, Lola Maria coffee shop is one fine dining shop where you can experience a wonderful meal.

I found the Legend Villas, outstanding! It was unbelievable that I felt so secured and so at home right away. My few hours stay was exceptional and with first class service, I would definitely come back should I have the chance again and would highly recommend it to my friends too. The staff are very accommodating and services are excellent.

GT: Christmas Weekend Vacation

Howdy? How's your Christmas? After a week of blog Hiatus, I am now back to blogging. Our Christmas was far good spending with my family on Christmas weekend. On the day of Christmas, we headed down south in my sister's house where my other sisters also dropped by and have a few minutes get-together before we finally headed home in Batangas.

They're just so beautiful in my eyes.

On Sunday morning, we stopped by at Fantasy Island for a few minutes. The guard on duty told us that the park is open for public viewing and we only need to pay for a minimal fee of P1000/good for ten persons. It looks empty and I have no idea what awaits us inside this fantasy castle. And since we already have our plan of spending a picnic day in Tagaytay, we did not stay there for long and headed our way after this quick pose. I guess my kids were matured enough for not insisting to go inside the fantasy castle. I remember when they were still young and kept asking me to go inside the park but only exclusive members were allowed that time. Now, I wonder what really is inside the park.

Such a cool windy day. It was the only perfect time where I can wear my jacket and beret or bonnet but I forgot to bring all those. When we left Manila, we were never sure of any plans for the weekend. I even wore my slippers instead of boots or rubber shoes. But my older daughter wore perfectly for the weather since it is included in her fashion style, a cardigan jacket, a beret and sneakers.

Simple things that my younger daughter really wanted to do, to blow bubbles, walk around the park and stroll around with her cousins.

Almost tempted to do the Zipline. This zipline is 300 meters off the ground. This adventure is best to overcome your fear of heights but I found myself already shaking even before trying and just the thought of ziplining scared me to death. I wished I had enough courage to try it even once. Maybe I'll try in our next visit. Funny, but I'm old enough for this kind of adventure.

View of Taal Volcano. The best shot I ever got in zoomed-in camera. It was foggy and gloomy that day and it was impossible to take a clearer view. I love the weather that day, cool wind and cloudy but it didn't rain the whole day. Just a perfect day out.

I hope this entry fits for vacation galore theme. Vacation for me means spending time with family whether in an exclusive resort or just a simple picnic ground. My dream vacation would be Paris, Italy, Amanpulo and Batanes. No matter how hard I save for my dream vacation, that vacation will be forever a dream in my life.

Logo Design Tips

I was at the mall the other week for flair idol's big event. It was indeed a successful event attended by different groups of media and celebrities. Although the place is quite far and it was intended for a night event, I gladly said yes as I love the product and want to see and witness myself the bar tending. When we reached the venue, the first thing that caught my attention were logos and posters all over the place. I say, the design was very remarkable and the logos gave me a great recall. The marketing people behind the product must be very smart. They should be given full credit about the great success of the event. I wanted to ask more about Logo Design Tips but the people at the event were busy and myself too, taking photos of the contenders. The next time I attend to an event like this, I'll make sure to take important tips for future reference.

Just some random thoughts. I am so uncertain and don't know what to do. I hope this is not a holiday stress. I was supposed to finish everything in the house and do my usual general cleaning. I only started but finished nothing. I don't know what is this feeling but I'm kinda dizzy. I'm kinda dizzy..zzy Daughters were asking yesterday where to spend Christmas. It's only the three of us and want to go somewhere else but my budget is too tight.
It doesn't even make sense if new bills are now available at the bank.. I'm happy anyway! I kept reading some updates and made my own research about this sensational case. He's innocent, period! Enough is enough! I don't want to argue with you. Your input is appreciated but please go somewhere else and find another page should you want to put only an anonymous comment. I'm happy! See. :)

Find the Perfect Ring

Deciding on what kind of ring to buy for a precious one is such a serious matter and sometimes even harder than making a proposal for marriage. In choosing from variety of engagement rings, whether a diamond, silver or gold, one must be very certain that this ring is the right choice of both couple. You should know the right carat whether 14k gold, 18k gold silver or platinum. The clarity of the ring should not be overlooked. If you have inadequate knowledge on choosing the right ring, you can ask the jeweller or any person who knows about jewelry. I swear every girl would walk down the aisle with tears of happiness and the ring that she wears has a significant part on her wedding day.

This goes with other kind of ring. If you are clueless about this, you can ask a friend or a relative to accompany you direct to the shop. These days, it is common already to see couple together buying their wedding bands. The advantage of shopping together is that, you have no worries anymore whether you like it or not. Besides, you can also choose the exact size that will fit to you both. I am certain about this, that diamond wedding bands are very expensive but sure both couple would wish to have this precious ring. Not every man can afford to buy this on cash, but there are payment options like paying it on installment basis. Many stores offer this kind of payment or allow credit card purchases. As long as it carries out your budget, then you can have this ring with no guilt at all to have this jewelry.

Keep Warm During Winter

I saw my cousin's and my aunt's photos last week with their first snow in Maryland. I saw it posted in one social networking site but forgot to leave a comment on how was the climate going on there. Even without asking the weather, I can feel the tremendous cold in the place with all the warmer and coat they wore in the picture. Sure, they are experiencing terrible coldness right now. I should warn my cousin about heating Maryland to keep them warm during winter season. If you see the photos, you definitely will know it is the coldest because the place turned zero visibility due to the foggy view. I guess she already had prepared winter clothing and wool bedding to keep them warm during the season.

My cousin work as a nurse in the U.S. so it is impossible for her to just stay inside the house to keep her warm all through out the season. Sure, they have warmer inside the house but she should prepare herself more on the road, like fueling enough, focus for clear visibility, and if possible bring thermos of warm soup. She should also install a good snow tires if she plans to go out even with thick snow on the road.

More of Paskuhan

It was already past nine when we went to Paskuhan, just being curious on what was going on in the event. Upon seeing the crowd with college and secondary students, I decided to go back home and sensed that my daughter will not enjoy the party with a stage mom at her back. I know, I was the only mom there. See the crowd? Teens and twenties filled the crowd enjoying the concert in an open field.

Get Ready for the Season

The climate up north is frigging cold right now. I always want to spend our holidays in this part of our country where we can experience the cold season during this time of the year. Although we have no snow or white Christmas in our place, it is still possible to experience a foggy and negative degrees way up north. I want to imagine myself sipping a hot coffee in a nearby fireplace. In some areas where they experience extreme weather condition, they need to get ready for the coming season. It is easier to manage the weather with Oregon heating and air conditioning. They need to check the climate beforehand to get ready with the season. It is the finest time to make snow angels or skiing or snowboarding. It is really fun but the more cold they get, the more they need to get themselves warmed too.

Checking the thermometer or climate for the week will help them become ready for the changes and will determine how cold or warm it will get for the whole week, thus getting more prepared for extreme cold weather condition for the week. We have four seasons in our country. Fortunately, we belong to a tropical country and that means less preparation for the cold weather.

My daughter together with her cousins attended Paskuhan last night. She missed the university party last year and was so excited to experience the said event.
An estimated 50000 people gathered around the UST open field. The crowd danced while the guest celebrities performed for the event.

There were also fireworks display that lasted for twelve minutes. The lights at the picture above are Christmas decorations and not fireworks. The ground was surrounded by different Christmas lights too.

Fixing Printer Problem

Our printer is acting so weird these days. Every time I want to use the printer, I always reinstall the printer to be able to print. But today, I can't even finish my printing job. My daughter needs to finish her school paper works but I think I will need again the help of a printing shop for her project. I need a better and reliable printer otherwise I will always rely on the computer shop every time my children need to print and that will consume much time, money and effort for the printing job.

The last time I reinstalled the printer, it changed nothing but the communication with printer. I'm in doubt if it's the printer. I just find it so weird that I have to do reinstalling job every time I need to use the printer. I want to check printers Richmond VA since fixing the same problem over and over again stressed me a lot. Other people say, the printer dried up the ink for a long time and that caused the printer to be broken. Well, I doubt if it's the printer alone since the communication between the printer and the computer is okay. The printer allows me to print after following several steps but queue status appears from time to time. The best thing I guess that I need to do now is purchase a brand new printer compatible with my computer.

Elegant Clock

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.. hear the Christmas song? Yes, I hear songs play everywhere and it only signals that Christmas is just around the corner. Evening mass or dawn mass will start on December 16. I haven't had any gifts yet and I know I'll be into rush shopping again. A friend suggested a store where I can buy gift items for an affordable price. I have listed down but I haven't bought any yet from my list. If Santa would ask me my wish list, I will choose from list of mantel clocks available this Christmas. I want something with a classic or antique look to put in my bare wall. Since I've been very good this year, I think this clock wouldn't be too much to ask for. My old clock just stopped even with a new battery. It just implies that it needs to be replaced by an elegant one.

Mommy Bloggers Christmas Party

With all my cowboy get up, boots, long sleeves and cowboy hat, who would have thought that Texas is just around the city. Our theme party Cowboy last Saturday was really a blast. It was indeed overly fun with all my fellow mommy bloggers who exerted their effort to make this party a successful one. I was really excited as it was my first time to see and experience few hours stay at Legend Villas. It was oh, was a home for me. I arrived just in time and was lucky enough to be included in first ten list of early cowgirls to arrive at the party. I took the MRT ride and packed my boots going to the hotel as it was awkward for me to take a commute ride with this outfit. The party started just few minutes after I arrived at the venue. The raffle prizes given by our sponsors made our party more enjoyable. Such prizes were raffled off every thirty minutes and I was one of the lucky cowgirls to take bags of prizes after the party. Let my photos below speak for the story.

I bet it would be thrice the fun next year. Merry Christmas to all!

Mommy Moments: Christmas Tree

Smell the pines? Here is our Christmas Tree which we put up few weeks ago with the help of my daughters and my nieces. We used Christmas balls last year and just bought additional ribbons as decoration this year. We put a big star above our Christmas Tree to remind us that Jesus Christ was born on Christmas day and the star guided the three wise men to baby Jesus.

How I wish I can afford that vacation too. For those who want uk breaks, you can check out the website now for more information about the holidays. Bookings are now available at a very affordable price. What's more? They accommodate all types of vacation such as cottages, beach resorts, boating, city breaks and more. I dreamed of ocean cruises but then I'll wait until I find time and budget for my short breaks.

HPV Fact Sheet

What is genital HPV infection?

Genital human papillomavirus (also called HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI). There are more thana 40 HPV types that can infect the genital areas of males and females. These HPV types can also infect the mouth and throat. Most people who become infected with HPV do not even know they have it.
HPV is not the same as herpes or HIV (the virus that causes AIDS). These are all viruses that can be passed on during sex, but they cause different symptoms and health problems.
What are the signs, symptoms and potential health problems of HPV?
Most people with HPV do not develop symptoms or health problems from it. In 90% of cases, the body’s immune system clears HPV naturally within two years.
• But sometimes, certain types of HPV can cause genital warts in males and females. Rarely, these types can also cause warts in the throat -- a condition called recurrent respiratory papillomatosis or RRP.
• Other HPV types can cause cervical cancer. These types can also cause other, less common but serious cancers, including cancers of the vulva, vagina, penis, anus, and head and neck (tongue, tonsils and throat).
The types of HPV that can cause genital warts are not the same as the types that can cause cancer. There is no way to know which people who get HPV will go on to develop cancer or other health problems.
Signs and symptoms of HPV-related problems:
Genital warts usually appear as a small bump or groups of bumps in the genital area. They can be small or large, raised or flat, or shaped like a cauliflower. Health care providers can diagnose warts by looking at the genital area during an office visit. Warts can appear within weeks or months after sexual contact with an infected partner—even if the infected partner has no signs of genital warts. If left untreated, genital warts might go away, remain unchanged, or increase in size or number. They will not turn into cancer.
Cervical cancer usually does not have symptoms until it is quite advanced. For this reason, it is important for women to get regular screening for cervical cancer. Screening tests can find early signs of disease so that problems can be treated early, before they ever turn into cancer.
Other HPV-related cancers might not have signs or symptoms until they are advanced and hard to treat. These include cancers of the vulva, vagina, penis, anus, and head and neck. For signs and symptoms of these cancers, see .
RRP causes warts to grow in the throat. It can sometimes block the airway, causing a hoarse voice or troubled breathing.

How do people get HPV?

HPV is passed on through genital contact, most often during vaginal and anal sex. HPV may also be passed on during oral sex and genital-to-genital contact. HPV can be passed on between straight and same-sex partners—even when the infected partner has no signs or symptoms.
A person can have HPV even if years have passed since he or she had sexual contact with an infected person. Most infected persons do not realize they are infected or that they are passing the virus on to a sex partner. It is also possible to get more than one type of HPV.
Very rarely, a pregnant woman with genital HPV can pass HPV to her baby during delivery. In these cases, the child can develop RRP.
How does HPV cause genital warts and cancer?
HPV can cause normal cells on infected skin to turn abnormal. Most of the time, you cannot see or feel these cell changes. In most cases, the body fights off HPV naturally and the infected cells then go back to normal. But in cases when the body does not fight off HPV, HPV can cause visible changes in the form of genital warts or cancer. Warts can appear within weeks or months after getting HPV. Cancer often takes years to develop after getting HPV.
How common are HPV and related diseases?
HPV (the virus). Approximately 20 million Americans are currently infected with HPV. Another 6 million people become newly infected each year. HPV is so common that at least 50% of sexually active men and women get it at some point in their lives.
Genital warts. About 1% of sexually active adults in the U.S. have genital warts at any one time.
Cervical cancer. Each year, about 12,000 women get cervical cancer in the U.S.
Other cancers that can be caused by HPV are less common than cervical cancer. Each year in the U.S., there are about:
• 3,700 women who get vulvar cancer
• 1,000 women who get vaginal cancer
• 1,000 men who get penile cancer
• 2,700 women and 1,700 men who get anal cancer
• 2,300 women and 9,000 men who get head and neck cancers. [Note: although HPV is associated with some of head and neck cancers, most of these cancers are related to smoking and heavy drinking.]
Certain populations are at higher risk for some HPV-related health problems. This includes gay and bisexual men, and people with weak immune systems (including those who have HIV/AIDS).
RRP is very rare. It is estimated that less than 2,000 children get RRP every year in the U.S.

How can people prevent HPV?

There are several ways that people can lower their chances of getting HPV:
• Vaccines can protect males and females against some of the most common types of HPV. These vaccines are given in three shots. It is important to get all three doses to get the best protection. The vaccines are most effective when given before a person's first sexual contact, when he or she could be exposed to HPV.
o Girls and women: Two vaccines (Cervarix and Gardasil) are available to protect females against the types of HPV that cause most cervical cancers. One of these vaccines (Gardasil) also protects against most genital warts. Both vaccines are recommended for 11 and 12 year-old girls, and for females 13 through 26 years of age, who did not get any or all of the shots when they were younger. These vaccines can also be given to girls as young as 9 years of age. It is recommended that females get the same vaccine brand for all three doses, whenever possible.
o Boys and men: One available vaccine (Gardasil) protects males against most genital warts. This vaccine is available for boys and men, 9 through 26 years of age.
• For those who choose to be sexually active, condoms may lower the risk of HPV. To be most effective, they should be used with every sex act, from start to finish. Condoms may also lower the risk of developing HPV-related diseases, such as genital warts and cervical cancer. But HPV can infect areas that are not covered by a condom - so condoms may not fully protect against HPV.
• People can also lower their chances of getting HPV by being in a faithful relationship with one partner; limiting their number of sex partners; and choosing a partner who has had no or few prior sex partners. But even people with only one lifetime sex partner can get HPV. And it may not be possible to determine if a partner who has been sexually active in the past is currently infected. That's why the only sure way to prevent HPV is to avoid all sexual activity.
How can people prevent HPV-related diseases?
There are ways to prevent the possible health effects of HPV, including the two most common problems: genital warts and cervical cancer.
• Preventing genital warts: A vaccine (Gardasil) is available to protect against most genital warts in males and females (see above).
• Preventing Cervical Cancer: There are two vaccines (Cervarix and Gardasil) that can protect women against most cervical cancers (see above). Cervical cancer can also be prevented with routine cervical cancer screening and follow-up of abnormal results. The Pap test can find abnormal cells on the cervix so that they can be removed before cancer develops. An HPV DNA test, which can find HPV on a woman's cervix, may also be used with a Pap test in certain cases. Even women who got the vaccine when they were younger need regular cervical cancer screening because the vaccine does not protect against all cervical cancers.
• Preventing Anal and Penile Cancers: There is no approved screening test to find early signs of penile or anal cancer. Some experts recommend yearly anal Pap tests to screen for anal cancer in gay and bisexual men and in HIV-positive persons. This is because anal cancer is more common in those populations. These tests are not routinely recommended for anal cancer screening because more information is still needed to find out if they are effective.
• Preventing Head and Neck Cancers: There is no approved test to find early signs of head and neck cancer, but tests are available by specialized doctors for persons with possible symptoms of these cancers. [see ]
• Preventing RRP: Cesarean delivery is not recommended for women with genital warts to prevent RRP in their babies. This is because it is not clear that cesarean delivery prevents RRP in infants and children.

Is there a test for HPV?

The HPV tests on the market are only used to help screen for cervical cancer. There is no general test for men or women to check one’s overall “HPV status,” nor is there an HPV test to find HPV on the genitals or in the mouth or throat. But HPV usually goes away on its own, without causing health problems. So an HPV infection that is found today will most likely not be there a year or two from now.
Is there a treatment for HPV or related diseases?
There is no treatment for the virus itself, but there are treatments for the diseases that HPV can cause:
Visible genital warts can be removed by the patient him or herself with medications. They can also be treated by a health care provider. Some people choose not to treat warts, but to see if they disappear on their own. No one treatment is better than another.
Cervical cancer is most treatable when it is diagnosed and treated early. But women who get routine Pap tests and follow up as needed can identify problems before cancer develops. Prevention is always better than treatment. [see ]
Other HPV-related cancers are also more treatable when diagnosed and treated early. [see ]

RRP can be treated with surgery or medicines. It can sometimes take many treatments or surgeries over a period of years.
