Girls Talk: Favorite Accesories
Am I late again? O'lala. I surely will get the award for late GT entry. I am not even sure if Mcklinky is still open for link by this time. But anyway, I'm posting here some of my favorite accessories.
The above accessories are my favorite. A watch/bracelet/ring sets in silver and gold with precious stones in it where I can wear in formal or casual attire. I don't have any big dangle earrings even if those are fashionable and chic. I go for classic accessories.

thankful sunday
Finally my brother landed safely last Sunday. We all waited for him eagerly, also welcomed by his wife and her one-year old daughter. Had lunch with family and a little talk before they headed home. "Mano po.." not the movie but the usual welcoming gestures or showing respect for elderly.

Email from my cuz!
Got an email from her, she is now in Maryland. Just to let you know that I'm happy knowing that you're enjoying your life and your career there as a nurse. I'm just so proud of you cuz.

weekend
Shopwiki.com
So how was that? What a cool and easy way of shopping. As a mom, I exactly know where to shop for other assorted kitchen guides like Cookbooks, Ceramics, Dinnerware and Flatware. I was able to buy my 6.5 Cu. Ft. Super Capacity Electric Dryer. It makes no problem for me anymore even on my tons of laundry loads. I can even spend more leisure time for my kids now. I value my time and shopping for me must be a real good investment.

my brother's coming home
I haven't blogged any about my brother.. he's the youngest in our siblings. He was 16 when our mother died. Realizing it's awfully sad for him losing a mother at his young age, we took the responsibility not only as sister but also as a mother to him. His life story is complicated and I think I will need a new blog site to post the story of his life. ^-^ My brother worked abroad for two years and it's hard to believe how time flies so fast. Those years helped him become matured in many ways. I felt like it was just yesterday when we were off to airport terminal and terribly worried about what life would there be waiting for him, being a stranger in a foreign land. I just can't believe right now, that I consider a miracle, how God touched his life. And now, I am just as excited for his coming, as my other sisters too. What added to this, is his excitement to see his little daughter who just turned one last August. I asked about pasalubong and my sisters answered me, "probably nothing." Haha. That's fine! My guess is that, he got nothing in his luggage but doll for his little princess. Well, it is more than enough for us that God answered our prayers. I am just so excited this coming weekend and for him, certainly, the longest weekday in his life. To you brother, have a happy and safe trip! Each man is questioned by life; and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life; to life he can only respond by being responsible.- Viktor E. Frankl-

Tuesday Couch Potatoes: Supernatural

My daughters love supernatural or supernatural horror movies. I am not really a fan of this type of movie but they watched this film about three times and so the story has already been in detailed and a familiar one to me. This movie, The Grudge, is the 2004 American remake of the Japanese film Ju-on: The Grudge. This film has two sequels: the Grudge 2 and Grudge 3. The main character was played by Sarah Michelle Gellar. Also starring; Jason Behr, William Mapother, KaDee Strickland, Clea DuVall, Bill Pullman and Rosa Blasi.
The normal façade of a modest house in Tokyo belies the hidden terror within. It is possessed by a violent plague that destroys the lives of everyone who enters. Known as 'The Grudge,' this curse causes its victims to die in the grip of a powerful rage. Those who are fatally afflicted by the curse die and a new curse is born--passed like a virus to all those who enter the house in an endless, growing chain of horror. Karen is an exchange student studying social work in Japan who innocently agrees to cover for a nurse who didn't show up for work. When she enters the assigned home, she discovers an elderly American woman, Emma, who is lost in a catatonic state while the rest of the house appears deserted and disheveled. As she is tending to the stricken old woman, Karen hears scratching sounds from upstairs. When she investigates, she is faced with a supernatural horror more frightening than she could ever imagine. Within this house, a chain of terror has been set in motion resulting from a terrifying evil that was born years before. As more people die, Karen is pulled into the cycle of horror and learns the secret of the vengeful curse that has taken root in this house. Now she must stop it before it's too late. (source)

family day for a cause
Our supposed family day last September 27 was postponed due to storm that hit Manila and is now rescheduled tomorrow. Instead of the fabulous event, the school launched a fund raising program for the event (auctions, cash donations, etc.) The university joined the nation in helping typhoon victims, sending medical staff to affected families brought by typhoon Ondoy. In times of crisis, you will see the real good side of being a Filipino, helping each other to survive.

Girls Rule!: my favorite shoes
In my early days of blogging, my daughters always ask me if I'm going to sell any of those stuff online. That's so funny! Now, they already knew why I'm taking photos of this stuff. I just heard them, "Mom is going to blog shoes," and they're right! :)
I think many girls love shoes and for them shoe shopping is destressing. Well I am not really a shoe person and I don't think I'll spend money for these items. All shoes that I got is simply a thought or a gift delivered right at my doorstep.

short update
I'll try to bloghop more these days. I need to double up my time for the next google update. My blogsite with PR2 drop down to zero and since then I never gained back my PR. I really have no idea about criteria in ranking. I gained my PR2 even before that I have no enough backlinks. When I checked my analytic account, I found out that my traffic increased more these days, but why did it drop down to zero? Most traffic came from entrecard. Thanks to EC dropper. Traffic is very important to those making paid reviews.
I declined one offer from blogvertise since I already have the same post about two months ago. I wonder if it will conflict the rules if I accept the offer again. I love blogsvertise. They offer a much bigger amount for paid reviews. Anyone who knows Blogvertise rules?

Eagles in a Storm
The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.
The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.
When the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them - we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God's power to lift us above them.
God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm.
Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.

The Bible says,
"Those who hope in the
Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles."

girls talk: favorite perfume
Hey, girly talk once again. I always love this meme. Women are born to love shoes and bags. Imeldific as they call it. Let me just include perfume in the list. I'm actually an addict to perfumes but only one stand out and that is Cool Water. The reason why? First, it's so cool,(haha) next, it gives confidence to myself. I am not really very sensitive with perfumes and CW has been my favorite for ages already. I love colognes too. I have some and an addict of VS scent too. My day wouldn't be complete without a spray of this scent.

Tuesday Couch Potatoes
Fantasy AdventureI missed one entry last week, Family Movie. Nevertheless our theme for this week is Fantasy Adventure and my entry though a fantasy film, is also perfect for family.
Brendan Fraser played Trevor Anderson as the visionary scientist in the movie. Together with his nephew Sean (Josh Hutcherson) and local guide, Hannah (Anita Briem) Trevor unexpectedly trapped in a cave from which their only escaped is to go deeper and deeper in the depths of the Earth. This movie being a fantasy adventure is also very funny although there are some unimaginable creatures like carnivorous plants, piranha, and dinosaur. The three explorers later realize that only few little time is left with them for volcanic activity is slowly threatening their lives. So all they need to do is to find their way out.
I watched this film for about two or three times together with my kids. We all love this movie, although some parts were a little bit scary, it balanced the humor and lightness of the film. Recommended for family who loves fantasy adventure.

DVD Mastering Services in Boston
Whenever I hear about Boston, the first thing that comes to my mind is Massachusetts. I remember the song, I'm going back to Massachusetts, by none other than my favorite singer for all time, Bee Gees. But this time, it's more than Massachusetts, it is the capital and largest city in my mind, and that is Boston. It is not only the musician now that we can find in Boston. After searching, I luckily find the most realiable mastering service providers in Boston. And just a perfect timing for my bestfriend who is now in Boston continuing her studies in one of the prestigious university in the area. This came as blessings to me since she'd been asking about this DVD mastering. There are many DVD mastering services that can supply DVD customization and that also furnish a consistent products. DVD mastering is the process that combines different levels of data into a “master” DVD that will later become the final DVD product. The process of mastering is to individualize a DVD and to make it as high quality as possible. The DVD mastering services Boston providers will accommodate any type of mastering project.

here comes pepeng..
We went earlier this morning in nearby supermarket. I noticed that some items like canned goods, candles, noodles, bottled water were already out of stock. Everybody's panic buying and rushing to buy ready-to-eat food and I wonder if this is awareness or traumatic sign. On my side, it is preparing for the worst scenario but I just realized that we could not bring all of the food we had just in case Pepeng dumps more or the same volume of rain like ONdoys. So this is not awareness anymore. I don't know the exact word to describe to people who are panic buying. Paranoid, overacting or trauma?

after Ondoy comes what?
Last Saturday, Ondoy drowned the whole Metro Manila and nearby province like Laguna, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Rizal. The worst hits area were Marikina, Pasig and Cainta. According to PAGASA, typhoon Pepeng already entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility as of this moment and is expected to hit the Eastern and Northern Luzon area. I live here in Manila and flood is a typical scene whenever heavy rain falls. But unlike the other nearby town Muntinlupa or San Pedro, the flood in Manila subsides in less than three hours. People have adapted the flood already but not the unusual high flooding like Ondoy. It was the first time I have experienced extreme flooding in Manila particularly in Dapitan where flood rises two feet higher than the usual. I wasn't able to take a photo while the flood was waist deep, because I was monitoring and preparing my family to move into a higher place just in case the flood becomes higher still. Today, people becomes paranoid and we can't blame them for the incident and trauma they'd experienced. I just opened a social journal site, and their updates where all about Peping. Some were scared, or have this weird feeling that their heart stops beating because it's raining again. All of them are wishing the rain to stop, including me. In life, there is always a lesson learned after the storm. Now, the people are monitoring the weather condition. Some evacuated already in a higher grounds. They are now more prepared for typhoon Pepeng. We can not prevent natural calamities but we can do something to survive. Brace for stronger and heavy rainfall in the future due to climate change but let us all prepare ourselves to face such emergency.
Lets all do our share in whatever way we can..
Please pray for all the victims of Ondoy.
God loves us so much, He will always listen to our prayers.
