Girls Talk : Girls Over Boys

My previous entry for Girls Talk meme was posted in a rush. Today, my entry is posted late due to connection problem. But hey, better late than sorry and missed an entry for this meme.

First and foremost, we of course can get pregnant while boys cannot.

Girls look sexy while sipping fruity cocktails, beer or any hard drink. Men would look less of a man with a fruity drink.

Multitasking! blogging, cooking, washing, cleaning the house at the same time.

Since this entry came up so very late, I think other things that girls can do over boys are very common in other post. Let me just add, the last but not the least in my entry: Ladies first/ behind the success of every man/ and the way to a man's heart is through his stomach but for woman it's through a terrific meal... aren't these girls over boys already? :)

Tuesday Couch Potatoes - Robot/Cyborg Movie

It is Tuesday once again, blog day for our Tuesday Couch Potatoes. The theme for the week is robot/cyborg movie and my entry is Bicentennial Man.

Bicentennial Man is a 1999 film starring Robin Williams and Sam Neill based on the well-known novella of the same name by Isaac Asimoy.

The film follows the evolution of the NDR series robot Andrew Martin (Robin Williams) from his introduction into the Martin family and interaction with them through three generations: discovery of his emotional and creative abilities, development into an artist and inventor, evolution into an android, his fight to win legal recognition for his humanity, and ultimate destiny. (source: wikipedia, the free encyclopedia )

Robin Williams is perfect for this character. He looked good as a robot.

camp trip

It's been three days since my last update. It was a long weekend for me. Last Friday, I packed things needed for my daughter's two days and one night camp in Cogeenick Youth Camp in Batangas. I remember during my younger days when I was an active GS member, attending seminar and camping too. I knew what it felt like as a first time camper and she's just as excited then.

Two days and one night is just so very long for a mom. When she came back home, she excitedly told me her wonderful experience in a camp. I thought of publishing post about it, but I need to limit my story here since she has her own blog. All I can post now is that she enjoyed the activities in the camp obviously by updating her blog rather than to take rest from a tiring camp. I can't share anything more except that I am so surprised to see her blogging.

Let me just share my role in that activity, just a few reminders to all moms. Always include the following in their camp lists; personal medicine, first aid kit, flashlight, canned goods, sleeping bag and a lot of shirts since camping involve strenuous activities like hiking and swimming. Did I mention that she did take home a bag full of muddy shirts? Well, she did and it was more of strenuous job for me too. But the compensation I get is that camping trip gave her a positive growth and has developed more of her social skills.

Girls Talk: I love me

This entry is posted in a rush. Niko invited me for this "Girls Talk" and I remember that this meme will start on Thursday and that is today, I mean now. Whatever followed in here is a quick post. I just so love and enjoy working with this meme.

For todays theme: Why do you love being a girl/woman?

I can be very moody and it's ok, I'm a girl and that's what I'm entitled for.

When my PMS comes, I can even make it as an excuse to become mad or iritated.

I can go out with my girl friends walking hand on hand. For men it is akward, one must be gay.

If I go on my daily drama and cry so hard, that's still ok, I'm a girl. I'm a woman of drama.

Love the girly thing. I can visit salon often, pick my fave nail polish and change in a few moment. If I can't think and decide whats really nice for me, please forgive me but I have to change it again and again. I'm not fickle minded, it's a girl thing.

Girls can go on chatting and gossiping but can keep secrets. Sayings that girls can't hold their tongue is wrong. We girls have this talent of never turning red at the sudden appearance of an object of gossips. So it's ok for us to gossip. :p

I love me, I love being a girl/woman.

The night before Patrick died

my friend asked me if I have dl of this song "the time of my life" and so I hummed and sang with Patrick in my mind. As shared to me and added that it's a danceable one, I immediately replied, Yes! Dirty Dancing. I never really had any idea that today, the first news I will read is passing away of one great actor, Patrick Swayze. How sad!

I will never forget Patrick Swayze as Sam in Ghost movie, and how Molly (played by Demi Moore) missed Sam very much. I fell in love with this movie and cried so hard. At one time of my life, I believed in ghost and the love beyond death.

Patrick in Dirty Dancing..

in Ghost..

He truly is an inspiration to everyone. Died at pancreatic cancer at the age of 57, this type of cancer is expected to live only up to six months but still that didn't stop Patrick. He kept working despite cancer diagnosis. May his soul rest in peace.

Tuesday Couch Potatoes

I am just so excited for TCP "Favorite Disney Fairy Tale" and that's the reason why I posted my entry this early. I never failed to watch any of Disney movies since I have two princesses who are Disney fanatic. My supposed entry is Mulan because this is our most favorite movie but since the story of Mulan is based on historical event and not really a fairytale on my own opinion, I would reserve Mulan for any future TCP theme. So my entry for TCP is Beauty and the Beast, my favorite Disney Fairy Tale.

Beauty and the Beast
When the beast captured Belle's dad Maurice, Belle has no choice but to offer herself in place of him. The Beast agrees to the trade and let Belle stays. Belle gets to know the Beast - not realizing that he's really a man who was cursed long ago for his selfessness by an old woman passing through the forest. Even though the Beasts puts on a tough show, Belle sees through it and comes to take care for him.

I so love this movie. I am sharing here the video and the lyrics since embedding of the official music video that was originally sung by Celine Dion was disabled in YouTube. For more entry, please click here, the home of Tuesday Couch Potatoes.

Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends

Just a little change
Small to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the Beast

Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before and
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise

Tale as old as time
Tune as old as song
Bittersweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong

Certain as the sun (certain as the sun)
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the Beast

Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the beast

Thank you so much Dhemz!

Thank you so much Demcy Apdian Dias of My Life's Perception and Inspiration for helping me install HTML code in my template. Admittedly, I'm not really knowledgeable when it comes to installing code. I went into panic before when I tried altering my layout code that caused my blogs discarded and my badge was misplaced. I even encountered internal error and misconfiguration. It took me trial and error to have opened my blog again since I did not call any expert to help me install it. And with that, I promised myself not to change html code ever as I would not like that to happen again. But not anymore when Dhemz offered me a help and sent me the proper code for my sidebar knowing she's an expert in blog make-over. This maybe a simple code, but a big help for me. There's no problem now in loading my page, my sidebar consumes a very minimal space and loading wouldn't take much of you anymore and that means more time for bloghopping.

Please check her badge and visit her other blogs too. Although she's now busy with her studies and family, still, she managed her time well and have time updating her blogs, even helping a newbie like me.

it's raining men

It's been a week of continuous rain in Manila. When will I see the sun again?

I went to vet clinic for my pet's last vaccine shot, and the vet was not around.
My daughter finds Music and Arts as the most difficult subject. I was thinking it was Math because she is a right sided brain thinker. . Sigh.
Is the 13th day of the month but not Friday the 13th.. :(
Internet is super slow. Not sure if publishing of this short post will be succesful too.
Though was pretty disappointed, I'm wishing you all a happy weekend!

this lyrics was posted in my daughter's English notebook and I wonder why she pasted it there. I am not so familiar with this song but I am sharing this hoping you'll like it too.

For A Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic

Just talk yourself up
And tear yourself down
You've hit your one wall
Now find a way around
Well what's the problem?
You've got a lot of nerve

So what'd you think I would say?
No you can't run away, no you can't run away
So what did you think I would say?
No you can't run away, no you can't run away
You wouldn't

I never wanted to say this
You never wanted to stay
I put my faith in you, so much faith
And then you just threw it away
You threw it away

I'm not so naive
My sorry eyes can see
The way you fight shy
Of almost everything
Well, if you give up
You'll get what you deserve

So what'd you think I would say?
No you can't run away, no you can't run away
So what did you think I would say?
No you can't run away, no you can't run away
You wouldn't

I never wanted to say this
You never wanted to stay
I put my faith in you, so much faith
And then you just threw it away
You threw it away

You were finished long before
We had even seen the start
Why don't you stand up, be a man about it?
Fight with your bare hands about it now

I never wanted to say this
You never wanted to stay, well did you?
I put my faith in you, so much faith
And then you just threw it away

I never wanted to say this
You never wanted to stay
I put my faith in you, so much faith
And then you just threw it away

Tuesday Couch Potatoes (my 1st entry)

This is my first entry for Tuesday Couch Potatoes. Today's Theme is Suspense Thriller. Perfect timing for my entry. One of the movies that my family wanted to watch is Suspense Thriller and my entry for today is one of scariest movie I have ever watched. The Hills Have Eyes. This movie is about a suburban American family being stalked by a group of psychotic people who live in the desert, far away from civilization.

It was the wedding anniversary of Cleveland police detective and his wife Ethel, and to celebrate, Bob asked his extended family to cruise California in the open road. While traveling in a trailer to California through the New Mexico Desert, a family is misled to a shortcut going to nowhere by the owner of an isolated gas station and wrecks the car in a rock. Along the night and on the next day, they are attacked by a group of deformed cannibals, fruit of the atmospheric nuclear tests conducted by USA from 1945 to 1962 in that spot. Absolutely trapped by the psychotics, they have to fight to survive.

Starring AAron Stanford, Kathleen Quinlan, Vanessa Shaw Dan Byrd.
This movie gave me thrilling night. I recommend not watch right before bed. This movie made me so scary for three consecutive nights.

yummy sunday

Oh my, I almost forgot it is Sunday today. Thank God, I was able to take a photo of what I have prepared for today. Sharing you our lunch and the story behind my menu.

Leftover rice last night that I cooked as sinangag. For my vegetable, I used adobo as panggisa. I fried the liempo instead that was supposed to be panggisa. a perfect menu for us. To lessen the calories/fats for my ginisang gulay, I prepared fruits to balance our diet. And so for our dessert, we have mango, my daughter's favorite.
More mango please. I prefer mango sliced into cubes. No matter how you want to eat it, peeled by hands or sliced, still our number one favorite fruits. No wonder mango is our national fruit. Mango from Guimaras was proclaimed by Guiness Book of Records as the sweetest mango in the world.

mixed nuts

not because i'm a year older now doesn't mean i'll be more serious with my life, the more years added to my life, the more i become nuts. lol. this is just an empty entry, i say, a mixed nuts. i just sit and start to blog with nothing inside my mind what to post. i just let what my hands and mind dictates me to write so expect nothing with this post.

this morning as i was busy with my laundry and talking online with a friend, i said that my mind is empty and have nothing to blog. my friend suggested to blog about the laundry. and why not? what a brilliant idea! simple. chat online while the machine is spinning, leave it, then back online. no joke. online, blogging, updating, eating and doing homechores at the same time is really possible.

supposedly, this blog is about my birthday yesterday. for those wondering how i spent my day, well, it was a simple celebration at home, with only spaghetti and ice cream. no party, no cake, no balloon. therefore, i have no cake to share here. i don't even have any photo of my all time favorite dish because my hungry visitors came in drooling for my spaghetti. before i click my camera, only the emptied serving platter was left. so just imagine why they all so love my spaghetti. sureness, you'll love it too.

i wish to just post some photo here not to tire you out with this wordy entry for nothing. i'll just end it here with a quote so as not to waste your time with this post. "Life is like an onion; you peel off one layer at a time and sometimes you weep. " :D

thank you so much

Thank you so much to my co-bloggers, Meryl, Beth, Bams, Kikamz, Jeanny, Pretty Mom and Betchay. Your greetings mean a lot me.
Special thanks to Amy. She posted a blog entry for my birthday in her blogsite and that made me feel more special.
To Rose and Redlan for providing me a link in their blog entry too.
To Reena and Attyjurita.
early greeters in my FB.
To my number one fan, you know who you are.

To those who left messages in my chatbox, friends online, virtual and real, my cuz, my family.. and thank God for adding another year to my life. To all, thank you so much. All your greetings made my day special.
