good morning sunshine!

I am having coffee right now and refreshed even though I only had few hours sleep last night. This is not my usual post about parenting but just to update a little about me today. I just found out that all my mornings were occupied for my pets. Today, I just gave Magic a bath, feed my fish and lovebirds too. I slept very late last night. I watched i-witness with this special feature Pac-Mom. I never expected Nanay Dionisia being featured in that documentary show..

Will update later tonight. Writing this short post for morning greetings. Wonderful Tuesday morning everyone!!

Michael Jackson dies at 50

I woke up this morning with this sad news. Tonight, I'm still digesting the news that MJ is really dead.

Generation to generation hits. My kids love most of his song, specially Billie Jean and Thriller. I told them about the King of Pop just about few weeks before his death and so the news came to them as a surprise. My friend also who is a fanatic MJ is surely mourning today over MJ's death. CD's and DVD's are now sold out in all music store. RIP.

blessings keep on pouring

It's a real good day today!

Before doing my usual mornings today, I turned the computer on, and checked my email first. I felt very excited when I saw an email from PPP. My entry was approved. It was my very first attempt for a paid post. It could be no big deal to other bloggers but not for a newbie like me even for a very minimal fee. Now, I get to know more about PPP. Thanks!

And what makes me more blessed?

Of course, my so much love, a flip-flops! This will complete my everyday get-up, my jeans and shirt.

I just finished my PPP the other day about my love to perfume and here's an additional to my collection. Thanks to my in-laws who are very thoughtful and sweet for always sending me stuff like this.A baby alive for my younger daughter as a mid-year bonus. She was really waiting for this being fascinated with dolls. I just don't know what's gonna happen with this stuff in a later days. I hope not the same fate with her old barbies, now neglected, long forgotten and undressed. I told her to be responsible. So far, she's busy now babying her dolls.

Sure you love your new doll. What about Magic now? I hope you still play and give him much time he deserved. (Magic was not available during this photo shoot)

These maybe are material things, but what makes this special is their sweetness and thoughts for sending us balikbayan box. Thanks to my husband and my in-laws for all the goodies and stuff thats full of love.

I would like to share the following quote from my favorite author.
"Love and blessings pour out when we least expect them." Nenen

keep pouring...

enjoying icon for free, chocolates for dessert, waking up for another day, online friends, my plurklandia, butterfly in the city (wow its rare), virus-free computer and A1H1 free, hearty meal, good words from a friend, healthy kids, newly polished nails, uninterrupted & speedy internet, 8 hours sleep in a soft bed, cable connected, two landphones, one celfone, sweet music from my lovebirds, janitor fish cleaning my aquarium for free, hot pandesal this morning, a cup of coffee over umagang kay ganda show switching to unang hirit on commercial break, paid meralco bill, a ROAM magazine if ever... and a lot more blessings to count

lets talk about pens, colors, arts and masterpiece this time

It's so funny but I really had to go to NBS this afternoon for this supply, "maped eraser."

My daughter gave me list of things to buy, i
llustration board, cross section paper, HB pencil and maped eraser. There are lots of small store around here since we are residing near schools and universities. I can buy all of these nearby but not for this eraser. They have no stock for this particular brand. So even the storm Feria is heading Manila, and PAGASA warns the public not to go out of the house, I rushed myself to NBS just for this very urgent eraser.

It's been many years ago since I used pen. My keyboard consumed much of my time especially when my kids were off to school. Also, a busy stay-at-home-mom with usual duties such as laundry, cook, yaya to my pets, all-around-mom to my kids and not a single pen is used.

I bought one box again of HB pencil this afternoon. That pencil is needed by my older daughter for her drafting class.

These are just pens. Pens for nothing, because my kids have enough supply in their bags for the school year. If every little thing has its own part and reason in this world, then these pens are only for indoor photography. Happy colorful ones.

Pick your favorite color here. My younger daughter is a color monster. A lot of them have been trashed already. Few of crayons are still being used for her own art atack.

What an Art! My younger daughter drew this for her Filipino subject this afternoon. She read the story of Mariang Makiling and drew the picture of it afterwards. As she had wrote here, "ang paggawa ng kabutihan ay mahirap kalimutan." This could be the lesson she learned based on what she read. She may not be the talented artist like my co-blogger Redlans Web of Arts but this masterpiece is created based on her own imagination.

My apology for this handwriting. She could have put few words in a straight line had she used an intermediate pad.

I hope her Filipino teacher will be fair enough in giving grades. I guess, she'll receive 83.5 for this masterpiece. Anyway, here's my rating --> excellent work of art. :)

lets talk about perfume

I have been addicted to different perfumes since I started collecting it. It gives me a special feeling whenever I start smelling sweet fragrance. My in-laws who are residing abroad always send me a package at least twice a year. There's always a perfume in that package for me. If you visit my house, you'll see variety of perfumes including half empty bottles that I already consumed and have collected many years ago. One of those perfumes is Chanel, my favorite. I just can't get over with this. Whenever my husband asks me what gift I always wish for, he always get my exact answer, only perfume. He would always give me Chanel because he knows exactly what I really wanted. The smell is classic yet overpowering. It gives me also a refreshing feeling. I just can't leave the house without it. It's like my favorite shoes or jeans that I need to wear everytime or even when I just have to stay inside the house. For birthdays, anniversaries or any other occassions, you wouldn't have any hard time thinking what to give. Visit this site, Talk Perfume. And so I suggest gentlemen, all ladies including me, will be glad to receive one.

moms little lady

I've been so busy preparing for your school opening lately. I am more than excited for you, well I guess from the first day of your preschool years till now, every little adventure of yours excite me. Now that you're about to enter secondary, I asked myself for so many times about this. Have I prepared you for another challenge in life? I know that high school is far different from grade school where in that years, you have so much fun that you truly enjoyed.

When you were in your younger years, I found it so hard to reduced your weight. You're a GAIN baby and you really were so big for your age.

You look so healthy here. I always sigh with this photo and I really missed those days, big clear round eyes and long wavy curly hair.

You were about four years old in this photo, you're just too pretty in moms eyes. You love to wear bracelet. I just found out now, you have it both hands. :)

I still remember how happy I was to see you in this gown. I saw your beautiful eyes, a well rounded face, looking at the camera, posing like a lady.

In your pre-school years, I was there and waited for you till the end of the class. You eagerly tell stories for every little achievement in your school. When you got three-star in your hand, you always asked for a reward.

You were only ten years old when you graduated in grade school. You never know how proud I am for you when you made it only for five years as fast learner with a very good grades.

I was more than a proud mom when you passed the entrance test in one big university. Out of thousands who took the exam, only half passed the test. I was really worried about the result, but later I found out, you didn't just pass the test, you also made it with flying colors.

I took this picture yesterday. Although you were too shy that I took this inside the mall, you still smiled at the camera for a very quick shot.

I just can't believe I have now a daughter taller than me. I don't say I stand too short, you were just so tall for your age. Thanks, you got your height from your dad.

I wonder why you were so conscious now of your built. I was surprised when you checked your body weight today and found that you loose few pounds again. You're in a better shape now.

On Monday, you will enter another challenging stage of your life. Although I can't be there beside you 24-hours a day, I am not worried because God will take care every single moment of your day.

I will always be here for you. Love you so much, Mom

i-blog this

This afternoon, I bumped into one of my husbands close friend and asked me about what time will my husband arrive. I was surprised because my hubby did not mention nor confirm anything about it. He was planning for a vacation next year, but not this soon. So I thought maybe he wants to surprise me. I tried calling him on his fone to confirm but he did not answer the call. I kept wondering whether my husband is really coming home or not. To this very hour, nobody arrived. So it was just a wild imagination of his best friend. I guess, a mere joke.

Anyway, one friend arrived from Basilan and gave us Lapulapu. I'll cook lapu-lapu with black beans tomorrow. For our dinner tonight, I cooked sweet and sour. I want to share my menu here. This is my own version that I based on how my children would love the taste to have for our dinner.

Sweet n Sour Lapu-lapu

Carrots, celery, ginger, onion, garlic, bell pepper
Mama Sitas sweet and sour mix
Option: if you want your own taste of sauce, you can use 1/2 cup tomato sauce, 3/4 cup water, 1/2 cup brown sugar, salt, 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 tbs flour instead of ready mix sauce.

Sautee garlic, onion, ginger, carrots, bell pepper. Pour in mixed Mama Sitas sweet and sour sauce. Add crispy fried lapu-lapu let it boil for two minutes. Thats it! Sprinkle the celery on top. Make sure it is crisp and fresh. For special occassion, you can add pineapple tidbits for good food presentation.

As usual, I am not really good in food photography, nor a culinary arts mom. I just took one shot for this post. This may not really look good because of my photography flaws, but I guarantee you, it tastes good. :) Masarsarap! I really love to eat vegetables with sweet n sour taste, carrots, bell pepper and yes, celery! Oh I forgot, is my husband coming? I guess, he's not. He doesn't eat much fish anyway. :)

Celery is an excellent source of vitamin C that helps to support the immune system and several other active compounds that promote health, including phthalides, which may help lower cholesterol and help relax the muscles around arteries and allow vessel to dilate; and coumarins, that may be useful in cancer prevention.

are you an ice cream monster?

Ice cream is a frozen dessert usually made from dairy products, such as milk and cream, combined with fruits or other ingredients. In other countries, ice cream is called frozen custard, yogurt, sorbet, gelato.

There are varieties of ice cream in the Philippines. These are special ice cream too, malunggay, ampalaya, with other herbal flavoring and fried ice cream. I've tasted the fried one already. The taste has no difference, it was just fried. Ice cream in soda, or Mcfloat. List of favorites in the Philippines are Selecta and Nestle Ice Cream. Magnolia is still the best for me since i have tasted their authentic mouthwatering flavor. Also, it was unforgetable for me to have an ice cream galore right inside Magnolia ice cream plant many years ago. I was even called monster being a regular customer in an ice cream parlor in then Greenbelt, now Glorietta.

My daughter is an ice cream monster too, see..

are you excited? or just can't explain the feeling..

cookies and cream

raspberry ice cream

dirty ice cream or sorbetes.

ice cream is best if shared with loved ones..

Ice cream is still my daughters' favorite even during rainy season. They're craving for an ice cream right now. I blog this. I can't go anywhere else, it's raining very hard outside, in fact, classes were suspended. No dirty ice cream or selecta music around the street. All I did the whole day is sip a cup of hot coffee, cup after every cup. How I wish I have an ice cream float right now topped in my coffee. :)

she bangs, she bangs

Yesterday I post an entry about planning to have myself a new hairstyle. Today, when I was about to sit on a salon chair, I asked myself if I'm ready for a change, and my answer is. "I want change, but I want that change later." what a big decision I made. (huh?!) I finally decided to stay my hair the way it is now.

Just imagine how it looks like if I have myself in full bangs..
Hmmmn, I don't think it suits me.. :) For now, only my two kids are in full bangs, mine, one sided. (wink)
I'll post my hairstyle in my next entry, with colour, straight and short hair, so lets get in!!
